When my husband and I decided to sell our house ourselves, we purchased some signs from the hardware store and placed an ad in the paper.  After we placed the ad, we held an open house and had lots of interest, but not as much as we had hoped.  Within a week, we received your brochure in the mail explaining that we could list our home on the MLS service for a one-time fee.  The brochure led me to your website which explained in detail the process, as well as, the other services that you offer (including full-service real estate sales).  I felt comfortable knowing that we could market our house on the MLS but could also fall back on full-service sales if we were unsuccessful, so I decided to use your services.

The weekend after our home was on the MLS, we had dozens of buyers interested in our home.  The types of buyers were very diverse and some came from areas where we would never have thought to advertise.  Some people came with real estate agents (we advertised that we would co-op) and some people were looking alone.  We were able to schedule the showing times at our convenience and explain the features of our house directly to potential buyers.  Since we know our house the best and have such a vested interest in the sale, we knew that we were always working hard to sell it.

I tried for-sale-by-owner in the Washington Post and local signs…waste of time and money. Too many tire kickers on the phone, no traffic. The objective is to get your house on the MLS computer, which is what Mr. Lister accomplishes. I sold my house in 3 days (had 5 contracts to choose from). I needed to relist it due to dishonest buyer and mortgage company, and sold it the second time in less than a week. The team at Mr. Lister helped me with some of my naïve questions and were honest and timely in their service. I have recommended them numerous times. Also, realize that you will need to pay a buyer’s agent commission. I paid 2% and they were beating down my door. I also paid a real estate attorney to help me select the contract and represent me at closing (buyer gets to pick closing company). He charged me $500.
